Vögeli AG (www.voegeli.ch) has invested in a Screen Truepress JetSX B2 sheet-fed digital press, the first in Switzerland, and it will be installed in the company’s advanced production facility in Langnau in the next few months.
Vögeli specialises in producing high-quality and sophisticated marketing products and has a reputation as a technology leader in Switzerland. The company produces unusual and highly personalised direct mail, customised gifts and promotional packaging and multi-element material for events, seminars and cross media marketing campaigns (PURL invitations, folders, name tags, documents etc).

The Screen Truepress JetSX will give Vögeli the ability to print personalised and customised text and images in 1440 x 1440 dpi quality on B2 duplex sheets and onto media from 0.08 mm up to 0.6 mm in thickness, including pre-scored and pre-cut boards. “The ability to print digitally onto pre-scored and pre-cut 600 micron packaging boards is crucial for us,” says Renato. This really changes the value chain of personalised folding carton printing. The Truepress JetSX is the only digital B2 press that can even print inside the creases of pre-creased boards which allows us to step into the new business of personalised packaging and gifting. Plus, all the jobs we print in offset are printed with a very fine stochastic screening and the images produced by the Truepress JetSX match very well. This will enable us to produce parts of the same job in offset and some in inkjet.”
Vögeli has strong environmental credentials. The company is ISO 9001 14001 certified, cools its pressroom with ground water and operates an efficient heat recovery and reuse system. As a result, the low power requirements of the Truepress JetSX, alongside its efficient use of water-based inks and low waste generation were important features of the press for the company.
