The European Digital Press Association has awarded the Truepress PAC 830F the EDP Award 2026 in the Packaging Printing category Best Flexible Packaging-Digital/Hybrid.
Barcelona, Spain — At the EDP Awards ceremony held on 20 May 2026 at FESPA Barcelona, SCREEN was awarded the EDP Award 2026 in the Packaging Printing category (Best Flexible Packaging-Digital/Hybrid) for the Truepress PAC 830F. The award was accepted on behalf of SCREEN GP Europe B.V. by Business Development Director Juan Cano and SCREEN Graphic Solutions Executive Officer Yoshinari Otani.
The EDP Awards, organised annually by the European Digital Press Association and judged by independent experts from Europe’s 20 leading trade magazines, are widely regarded as the most rigorous and prestigious technical accolade in the digital printing industry. Entries are evaluated across seven criteria: innovation relevance, usability, productivity, quality and durability, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), sustainability and environmental impact, and price and overall value makes an EDP Award one of the most credible validations a press manufacturer can receive.
Inkjet for the Next Stage of Flexible Packaging Printing
The Truepress PAC 830F represents SCREEN’s most significant advance in bringing inkjet printing agility at industrial levels for plastic flexible packaging. Operating at speeds of up to 75 metres per minute with SCREEN’s food compliant inks the press delivers output at a level of colour fidelity and print consistency that meets the demands of branded retail packaging, while offering the production flexibility, job-changeover speed, and reduced make-ready waste that reframes the commercial case for digital production in the flexible packaging sector.
Receiving such a prestigious award goes beyond exceptional fundamentals in printing. Unique innovations such as the Truepress PAC 830F capability to print on a wide range of plastic film substrates including PET, BOPP, and MDO-PE, with water-based food compliant inks, or advanced EQUIOS workflow software driving automation to improve printing efficiency while opening new business opportunities with short-run promotional or personalised packaging campaigns.
The EDP Award results carry broad significance beyond industry recognition. Findings from the EDP judging process are published in EDP Award Report and distributed across the association’s 20 member publications, reaching over half a million readers across Europe. For print businesses evaluating capital investment in new press technology, independent technical assessment of this kind provides the kind of third-party validation that carries weight at board level and in procurement decisions.
Juan Cano, SCREEN Europe’s Business Development Director for Flexible Packaging, commented on the significance of the decision, saying, “The Truepress PAC 830F receiving the EDP Award reflects the result of extensive development work by the entire SCREEN engineering team. This digital inkjet press designed to redefine flexible packaging inkjet production across speed, quality, and workflow agility. For that work to be independently assessed and recognised by Europe’s leading print industry experts is a result we are extremely proud of and a strong signal for the potential digital printing in an evolving packaging converting sector.”
