Print on demand colour books
Inkjet is quickly becoming established as a production tool for book printing and Screen’s Truepress Jet520 family of presses offer a perfect balance of speed, quality and cost. The Piezo Drop on Demand (DOD) inkjet printhead arrays used by Screen are well known for their reliability and consistency which means you can print all day everyday with the first book produced being exactly the same quality as the last. The three picoliter ink droplets we use are amongst the smallest in the world and enable precise control over droplet placement. The positioning of each droplet is calculated by Screen’s own unique screening algorithms that have been developed over 70 years of colour reproduction. The accurate drop placement combined with the fact that our heads are greyscale heads (we achieve four grey levels) means we can print beautiful, smooth images as well as sharp, crisp characters.
Print quality monitoring
Unevenness is often cited as a problem when using multiple printheads. The Truepress Jet520 series features built-in quality control scanners, reading a printed test chart and automatically correcting for any problems. The unit is also designed to use special techniques to prevent problems with jammed nozzles. The Truepress Jet 520’s automated printing quality monitoring ensures consistent, high-quality results throughout each job as the system prints.
Suitable for a wide range of paper types
While there is no question that printing on inkjet paper gives the best possible results, the Truepress Jet520 is also capable of outstanding quality on many different types of conventional offset paper including bulky book woves.
A variety of installation setups
The Truepress Jet520 can be set up in a variety of shapes, depending on how the printing units and paper roll unwinder/rewinder units are positioned. These include a straight line design (I-shape), a partial loop design (U-shape), and a right angle design (L-shape). Simply choose the arrangement that best suits your needs.
