SCREEN REVEALS NEW ROLL FEED FOR TRUEPRESS W3200UV
11th May 2015
Screen GP Australia has revealed more details and images of the new 3.2m wide roll-to-roll option for its Truepress Jet W3200UV flatbed UV printer. The new system integrates with the W3200UV to turn it into one of the industry’s most versatile wide-format printers, producing high-quality UV print on both rigid sheet and flexible roll substrates at up to150 sqm/hr. The global debut is at FESPA 2015 (May 18-22 in Cologne, Germany, Stand U20/Hall 6).
Screen’s roll media handling technology, developed for its successful high-end digital web presses, was incorporated during development, with Inca’s leading digital flatbed technology.
Screen GP Australia Managing Director Peter Scott says: “This is not just a ‘bolt-on’ roll feed. It is a precision engineered roll system that harmonises with all W3200UV advanced features including screening, touch-panel control, near photographic reproduction and high uptime via automated printhead cleaning and nozzle mapping. It even blends aesthetically with the printer, sitting unobtrusively under the moving flatbed when not in use and forming part of the machine when the bed is locked down for roll production.”
Super-fast change from flatbed to roll
Able to handle rolls from 750mm up to 3.2 metres wide, the new system can be purchased with a new printer or can be easily retro-fitted in the field. Very easy to use, the operator can switch from a fast flatbed into a fast roll-fed printer in the time it takes to walk around the machine - once the table is locked the printer effectively converts into roll mode.
“Printers can now produce the widest range of both commodity and high-value products, such as everyday display graphics, hard/soft signage, wallcoverings, banners, truck curtains, window film, quality POS, backlit and day/night graphics and accurate ‘3D’ lenticular panels, all in one to eight multi-layers,” says Scott.
A flatbed-only Screen Truepress Jet W3200UV will be on working display at Visual Impact/PrintEx from May 13-15 on the Graphic Art Mart stand VC12. A video of the roll feed in action will be available. The shows are in the Dome and adjacent halls at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush.
